2021 Highlights at Metropolitan House
A lot has happened for our business centre this year, from recent refurbishment work to welcoming a few new businesses into the building, there is always something going on!
We are based in Gateshead and provide serviced offices and meeting rooms. We also have Health, Safety and Hygiene measures in place to keep our visitors and tenants safe. In this post, we thought that we would do a 2021 round-up to update you on our latest highlights.
Have a read of what has happened for us so far this year:
1) Refurbishment Work
We have recently had refurbishment done in the downstairs areas by this specialist trade services company. They have done an amazing job, giving our meeting space and reception area a much-needed revamp. This company are one of our tenants and provide a range of different services, which include painting, decorating, cleaning, building and maintenance.
2) Welcoming New Tenants
We’ve welcomed multiple new businesses into the building this year. These include roofing contractors and a therapy business. We want our tenants to feel looked after and gave them a warm welcome. We are also always on-hand if our occupants have any questions.
Our serviced offices and rooms are fully booked at the moment but keep an eye on our Facebook and Instagram in case one becomes available. We also hire our meeting spaces out, which are used for general meetings and training courses.
3) Our Team
We’re grateful to have an amazing team who provide fantastic service to our visitors and tenants. Shauna and Ellie have recently completed a level 3 emergency first aid at work course with a North East training company to make sure they can help when it’s needed.
During National Apprenticeship Week, we celebrated the achievements of our staff who are eager to pick up new skills. Ellie joined the team in February and has been studying for her Level 3 Qualification in Business Administration. Centre manager, Shauna, has been with us for 9 years and is currently completing her Level 4 Diploma in Business and Administration.
4) Keeping up our Safety Measures
We have all been continuing to practice Health, Safety and Hygiene measures and have also asked our tenants to follow this. Last year, our employees completed a Prevent Covid-19 online course, teaching them the best practices that keep both visitors and occupants safe.
Examples of safety measures we’ve put into place include a protective screen on the reception desk and cleaning all the communal areas of the building every week day.
That’s the round-up completed and it’s fair to say that this year has certainly been busy for our team. This post shows that, despite the difficulties we have faced in the pandemic, there has been some positives. We are hoping that the rest of this year will go just as well!
