What is a serviced office?

Serviced office space is different to traditional office space as all amenities are looked after by the management team in the building. For example, kitchen and bathroom facilities are cleaned and you do not have to do this yourself.

So what is included in the price of a serviced office?

At Metropolitan House, use of our phone lines, including a designated number is available as well as use of our facilities e.g. kitchen and bathroom areas. Full cleaning is also provided in all of our common areas and full building management is provided by the team. Furthermore, call answering can be provided upon request by reception staff when you are unavailable.

You may wish to have additional extras such as: handset rental, a fob for access( which is a one off charge) and meeting room hire. Business rates is also an extra however, you can apply for small business rate relief with Gateshead council if it is the sole UK office.


Is office space for you?

If you are a small business who may not need the physical space, we often suggest considering a virtual office. This is where you can pay to use our business address whilst working from home. As a result, you will have a professional business address and can have services such as post handling and telephone answering. This will support your business if you are just starting up and can eventually support your move to physical office space in the future.
